Caught the Massive Attack show last night at Metropolis (which was originally scheduled for September 11 but rumour has it they couldn't get visas to cross the border on that day with that name at that venue). Wow! Great show but there were clearly three exceptional songs: Angel, which is perhaps the all-out sexiest build-up and release in music, Safe from Harm, an unending groove oddly complemented by dismal Iraq War statistics on the LED screens, and Teardrop, sung by the heavenly voice of Elizabeth Fraser. Those three tunes alone hypnotized the room.
